what is the marquette method of natural family planning?
The Marquette Model is a natural fertility charting technique that uses a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor, a relatively inexpensive device (roughly $130), to measure changing hormone levels in urine.
what is unique about marquette?
The Marquette Method deploys the use of technology to help couples gain objective clarity in identifying their fertile and infertile windows.
The Marquette Method is charted either on paper or an app.
Couples must purchase a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor from Amazon or WalMart.com.
They are generally less expensive on Amazon (usually $130).
They’re not found in stores in Colorado. They may be found in stores in other locations.
what does Marquette Method education look like?
Bella offers Marquette education through individual appointments in our office, individual online sessions, group classes (online or in person), or our online self-paced class.
Couples will understanding how to begin charting after only one session, with follow-up included.
Marriage Preparation Couples | Three Sessions
Infertility Patients | Two Sessions (with additional sessions as needed)
Postpartum Patients | Three Sessions
Sessions are generally spread one month apart.
Postpartum sessions follow slightly different spacing logic. Sessions are scheduled based on your individual return to fertility.
DOES MARQUETTE OFFER BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP INSTRUCTION FORMATS?

HOW EFFECTIVE IS MARQUETTE IN FORECASTING FERTILITY?
Marquette has been proven to be 98% effective in predicting fertility for those with regular cycles and for women postpartum while breastfeeding. The most recent study was conducted by Dr. Richard Fehring with The Institute of Natural Family Planning at Marquette University.
CAN MARQUETTE BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER FERTILITY CHARTING METHODS?
The information from the monitor can be used in conjunction with observations of cervical mucus, basal body temperature, or other biological indicators of fertility, but additional indicators are not required. That’s what makes it nice.
what about infertility patients?
Patients who are being treated for infertility at Bella will be asked to chart their cycles.
Many patients are new to this, and therefore will be asked to begin instruction with our Fertility Resource Team.
