fertility education

from a

medical perspective

We believe that everyone has the right to know the dignity of the human design and how the body works, and that this education changes at different points in life.

Part of our mission at Bella is to help every person realize their own dignity. We offer workshops for men, women, couples, high school teens, middle schoolers, and postpartum moms. Although the content is tailored for every group, the resounding theme is the same - we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

option 1 | MIDDLE SCHOOLERS

feminine unveiled

This is a 2.5 hour program is designed for middle school girls (suggested 5th - 8th grade) and their mothers, aunts, grandmothers, or friends.

During this program, we share about growing up in body, mind, and spirit, discussing everything from our body changes during puberty, to reproductive anatomy and physiology, to hormonal changes, and what it means to have dignity as a young woman.

becoming truly Masculine

This is a 2.5 hour event for middle school boys (suggested 5th - 8th grade) and their fathers, uncles, grandfathers, or friends to open the conversation about:

  • Basic male anatomy and physiology

  • Physical and emotional changes of puberty

  • Appreciation for female growth and development

  • What it means to grow in to a man (maturation of the adolescent soul using Theology of the Body)

This program coming in 2023

option 2 | HIGH SCHOOLERS

feminine explored

This is a 3-session series for high school girls (grades 9-12) to dig deeper into:

  • Anatomy and physiology of our reproductive system and cycles

  • Emotional and hormonal changes that happen over a cycle

  • Healthy relationships

option 3 | WOMEN 18 & OLDER

FeMinine realized

At this point, we all know at least a little about our cycles, but did you realize there’s actually pretty cool science to fertility, that, when understood, opens up new appreciation to the shifts we may experience in our mood, energy levels, complexion, and even sleep cycles?

Even in “natural family planning” circles, fertility education is usually reserved for couples preparing for marriage. Although that’s an important moment to understand fertility, a true awareness of our cycle empowers healthier living and greater self-compassion long before marriage.

Were you taught how your body works or how to chart your cycle? As a child or young woman, did anyone take the time to explain the physical and emotional implications of your fertility and the female design?

It’s so common for us to hear women say, no! And it would have helped.

This is a 3-hour program for women ages 18 and older to learn more about our bodies, cycles, hormones, and emotions.

We’ll explore:

  • Anatomy and physiology of female reproductive organs

  • Charting methods

  • The mind/body connection: having a healthy view of sex

  • Loving who you are and how you were made

option 4 | MARRIAGE PREP (NFP INTRO)

The “requirement,” or even just the recommendation, for Natural Family Planning can be a little overwhelming, and, quite honestly, a source of contention for many couples.

Our team is a little different, as we are first and foremost an OB-GYN / Family Medicine practice. We bring the medical perspective to the conversation, ensuring couples from all backgrounds are equipped with life-affirming fertility information important to starting their lives together.

Bella’s marriage prep offers insight into:

  • Basic anatomy and physiology

  • Introduction to hormones and chemicals that make us who we are

  • Understanding mainstream contraception and why NFP is scientifically and medically ideal

  • Putting NFP into real life with real life stories

option 5 | MARRIED COUPLES

Married and practicing Natural Family Planning (NFP)?

Maybe you’re married and not practicing, or practicing but have never understood the “why” behind it.

Wherever you are coming from, we invite you for a night to dive into the theology and “why” behind NFP

  • Why does the Catholic Church say you should practice NFP?

  • Why is NFP good for your marriage?

  • Let’s talk about the hard stuff: common questions surrounding church teaching

  • Hear from couples and their raw stories related to discovery of the beauty of NFP in their marriage
